ek pari ru ko munh zaban huiN
Meri ghazleN to gair fani huiN

Jin ke hone se khush bayaaN the hum
DaastaaneN woh sab puraani huiN

Din dhala, thak ke hum bhi laut gaye
Dukh ki parchhaiyaaN syaani huiN

Ab muqaffal naye makaan meN haiN
Saari cheezeN jo khaandaaneN huiN

Sharm, shokhi, rijhaao, bhola pan
RangateN us ki pur ma’aani huiN

Sach hai, Ghaafil mizaaj thi duniya
AafateN bhi to naagihaani huiN

Khaab sajne lage to din mahke
Aur raateN baRi suhaani huiN
